Uncle Luke caught COVID-19 after pressure to attend party

Luke said just a few days later, he began to experience the all-too-familiar symptoms of the coronavirus, including dry coughs, feeling sick and losing his sense of taste and smell. However, when Luke tested a “false” negative, he quickly dismissed the matter and thought he was safe.

That feeling didn’t last long at all.

“Soon, I had a fever and my temperature spiked to 102 degrees. I went to the hospital, where I had a second PCR test that came back positive. Because I wasn’t having trouble breathing, they sent me home and told me to quarantine for two weeks,” Luke told the Miami Times.

Luke told the newspaper that he eventually recovered from the harrowing ordeal. Today, Luke warns citizens to take the virus seriously and do what is recommended by experts to stay safe.
