What effect did quarantine have on domestic violence?

I’ve been committed to bringing awareness to the community, with respect to the rise in domestic violence cases since COVID. I want the community to understand that domestic violence is an issue that affects everyone. There has been an increase in domestic violence calls during the pandemic. Victims were forced to remain in the home with their abuser 24/7 without relief due to quarantine. Domestic violence is real and anyone can be a victim, as it does not discriminate. Age, race, education and socioeconomic status doesn’t matter.

How can we help?

It is my responsibility to support the victims and survivors while educating the community about prevention and resolution. We must end the silence and stop the violence. If you see something, say something, because you could possibly save a life.

One should want to support our nonprofit financially and through service because assistance can help continue our fight to stop the violence and transform victims into survivors. Teamwork is important as it fosters creativity. It brings people with like minds together and motivates them to rely on one another to accomplish specific goals. Teamwork also makes progress easier and allows the group to overcome obstacles that would have stymied an individual.

I truly believe in this powerful motto: Teamwork divides the task and multiplies the success.
