Kelly Price finally let her fans know that she is safe after a national panic was set off when police listed her as a missing person in Georgia.
The gospel and R&B songstress spoke directly to TMZ to let them know that she was never missing. She also informed the publication that, at her lowest point, she was medically flatlined and had to be brought back to life after contracting the virus in late July 2021.
Price, 48, conveyed disappointment with some members of her family who should have known that she was fighting for her life at an undisclosed location. She also said she avoided most other family members with whom she has little contact on a regular basis, therefore they wouldn’t know her whereabouts.
The singer said she was not at home when Cobb County authorities showed up to do a welfare check. She said she could not recover in peace. Fans were routinely coming to her home, ringing the doorbell and leaving gifts.
Kelly’s battle with the virus has been horrific and nearly took her out of here — well, it actually did for a brief spell.
“At some point they lost me. I woke up a couple of days [later] and the first thing I remember was the doctors standing around me asking me if I knew what year it was,” Price told the publication.
Price was asked to elaborate on the phrase “they lost me,” and she said, “I died.”
