Revenge bedtime procrastination might be keeping you up at night

Start your nighttime routine earlier

If you start your nighttime routine earlier, then this can give you a little extra time to do the things that you might not have had time to do during the day. You can hold yourself accountable by setting an alarm to remind yourself when it’s time to start winding down.

Create downtime for yourself during the day

You are more likely to procrastinate going to sleep at night if you feel like your days aren’t fulfilling you. To combat this, try carving out some downtime for yourself during the day. This can be taking just 20 minutes to go outside for a walk or connect with a friend you’ve been meaning to reach out to. In doing this, you are taking control back over how you are spending your time.

Force yourself to quit screen time

Turning off your TV and putting down your cellphone might seem impossible at the end of your day but your future self will thank you. Instead of getting that last-minute screen time, try to practice habits that will help you relax like meditation, reading a few pages of a book, or doing some gentle stretches.

Try incorporating a sleep supplement

Incorporating a sleep supplement can help calm an over-stimulated mind which might improve your quality of sleep by helping you get to sleep quicker and stay asleep longer.
