Nia Long suggests how to elevate your man for the holidays

What has been your favorite movie “love affair” and what made that relationship your favorite?

Love Jones will always hold a special place in my heart. Larenz [Tate] and I explored Black love in a contemporary setting and shared the beauty of the spoken word. Love Jones is unforgettable.

You’ve been featured in numerous “Black don’t crack” memes. What is your secret?

Good skin starts with hydration. I’m big on taking supplements and drinking tons of water. Vitamin C and collagen are a must. I thank my grandparents daily. Good genes are a blessing.

How can women be more aware of their significant others grooming or maintenance needs?

The beauty industry has always catered to women. Men have skin too … it’s not just a witty Old Spice campaign. Old Spice is providing new products with real benefits and ingredients to help the skin flourish. Ladies, do the men in your life a favor and grab Old Spice Fiji hand and body lotion or the moisturizer with shea butter body wash to help them elevate their grooming routine. Even if he doesn’t think he needs it, he will thank you later.

What have you learned about balance and womanhood over the last 20 years?

I’m committed to being my authentic self event when I see things I don’t like about myself. It is in those moments, I challenge myself to grow without compromising my standards. Less ego and fear … more love and grace.
