National sports personalities like ESPN’s Dick Vitale and Fox’s Reggie Bush have publicly advocated for Sanders to get hired at a traditional Power 5 program. Reports even came out he interviewed for the coaching vacancy at TCU, and the team’s star running back tweeted he wanted Coach Prime to be his team’s next leader.
Sanders initially denied the reports, but the details of his future plans at Jackson State should be even more assuring, especially considering the fact two of his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, are on the football roster. Sanders also said previously that his daughter, Shelomi, expects to join the women’s basketball team next season.
As his Aflac commercial series with legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban concluded this past weekend , Sanders appears to remain an HBCU football factor, at least for the near future.
I’m so proud of our young men for tonight’s comeback win @GoJSUTigersFB. This was right after @ShedeurSanders threw the game winning touchdown to @mightymal13 with under 2 minutes left. I love y’all and I BELIEVE! pic.twitter.com/us09scVfnC
