There was a herd of unhappy campers leaving State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Dec. 16, 2021.
Spectators for this year’s Jingle Bell ATL show under iHeartRadio were told Doja Cat, the Jonas Brothers and Megan Thee Stallion would not perform.
Doja Cat was the first artist to announce she wouldn’t be able to perform in Atlanta due to testing positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 12.
“I’m doing ok and look forward to recovering and getting back out there as soon as I can!” Doja Cat tweeted.
On the morning of Dec. 16, the Jonas Brothers announced on the group’s Instagram Story a member of the production crew tested positive for the virus.
“We are extremely disappointed that we can’t be there with our fans in Atlanta,” the group account posted.
Then, on the afternoon of the show, just hours before it began, Megan Thee Stallion announced someone on her team also tested positive.
“While I tested negative today, I’m not feeling well, and as a safety precaution, I won’t be able to perform at Jingle Ball in Atlanta,” the recent Texas Southern graduate tweeted. “I’m extremely disappointed to let my hotties down. Hoping to feel better tomorrow.”
Fans outside the arena voiced their frustrations as security guards and venue employees repeatedly reminded them the three headliners of the show wouldn’t perform, and if they chose to enter State Farm Arena, they wouldn’t receive refunds for their tickets.
