What should readers and audiences expect from the book?
A testament of growth, forgiveness, and compassion. God strengthened me with the courage to be transparent about my journey, to encourage someone who might feel defeated or alone. It’s both relatable and inspiring. You will laugh, cry, hell you might even get angry, but I am certain you will enjoy it.
How important is it for Black writers and readers to have their stories told?
Connection. It is so refreshing to see that we aren’t alone. When you see someone that looks just like you make it through, you know that you have that same power.
What advice can you offer to others who aspire to write?
Take your time, set a goal, and stick to it. It doesn’t take much to become overwhelmed, so pace yourself and be realistic with yourself. Designate a specific amount of time per day or week to get the job done. You’ll be so proud of yourself.
What’s next for you?
I am currently working on another writing project that I’m sure will jumpstart your desire to change the way you think and move. I’m so excited about it.
