Charjoi Pringle says that mental health and self-wellness is a lifelong journey

How is Black and brown representation important when it comes to doctors and health?

It’s highly important. I think representation matters across the board, whether or not as in mental health and therapy, or entertainment, or media. Just in our everyday lives, it’s important for representation, because what feels the best is when you walk into a space and you see someone who looks like you because then you feel understood, then you feel seen and not like you’re walking into a space and having to say, “Okay, well, here’s my background, this is why I do what I do. This is why I say what I say.” But rather, I can walk into a space feeling safe and seen.
