As much as Saba wears the West Side on his sleeve he offers up a few conversations with his grandfather as interludes. These exchanges are what makes the project so special and reveal how his family ended up in Chicago. Saba created a space for a generational dialogue that helps tell the story of his life.
Standout tracks are:
“One Way or Every N***a With a Budget”
“Survivor’s Guilt feat. GHerbo”
“Come My Way” feat. Krayzie Bone”
“2012 feat. Day Wave”
“Few Good Things” feat. Eryn Allen Kane and Black Thought
As a project Few Good Things earns 4.5 stars out of 5 only because I would have loved to hear more of his grandfather’s stories.
Saba is also releasing a short film for Few Good Things on Youtube on Feb. 10.
Take a listen to Few Good Things below.
