Dr. Lynae Brayboy shares why ‘Clue’ is the go-to source for period tracking

When did you decide you wanted to become a doctor?

My mother tells me that I was 2 years old when I told her I wanted to be a doctor. I spent a lot of my waking hours with my grandparents. My grandmother was a nurse, and she was a nurse that actually got her training and all of her education during segregation. She was an inspiration to me because she was a nurse in many different capacities. She worked in hospitals, she worked in outpatient units, in rehab, and at home every night, she would make us dinner. I felt like it was sort of like me taking on my ancestral mantle really to go into health care. I think on my med school application, I even wrote how my grandmother shaped me. I’m still so thankful for that.
