Entrepreneur De’Von Truvel was inspired to create the “Play Black Wall Street” board game by the real-life businesses and events from early-1900s in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Greenwood community that was dubbed “Black Wall Street” was one of the most economically successful communities in American history before the infamous massacre. Truvel designed the game to help players increase both their financial literacy and their Black history knowledge. Truvel will also give away the Play Black Wall Street games to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the West Valley.
