On his 52nd birthday, Irv Gotti continued to push his ideas to another level. On June 13 in Atlanta, he held auditions for a film he’s producing titled Made It In America.

Aside from his own creations, Gotti took time before presenting an award at the 2022 BET Awards to give flowers to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Diddy.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t give my man, my brother Diddy, some love,” Gotti said. “I was one of the young dudes that [was] watching him, and he inspired me so much. So I wanted to give him some love.”

How are you today?

Hot. This is the first time I’ve worn this suit.

Who are you wearing?

Gucci, Jimmy Choo. I’m hot as f—.

For the people who want to be you, a hip-hop mogul, someone big in the space and they’re young now, what are some pieces of advice you can give them?

Make it hot. Whatever you’re doing. Be it TV, film or music. Make it hot and don’t be scared to critique yourself in the sense of maybe it ain’t hot enough. Be hot as me in this f—— suit.

What advice would you give to aspiring artists?

You don’t have to sound like anything. You do what you want. Just make it dope.

What are you looking forward to most tonight?

Diddy. My man’s well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award and I’m curious to see what he’s gonna do on that stage. So Diddy.
