Many music fans were unaware that toppled R&B titan R. Kelly had three sisters, and they all had a lot to say in defense of their disgraced brother.

After being sentenced to 30 years following his conviction in federal court on a plethora of charges related to sexual assault, and facing decades more in his upcoming state trial in Chicago, the “Step in the Name of Love” singer may languish in prison for the rest of his life.

Robert Sylvester Kelly’s sister, Lisa Kelly, was the primary spokesperson in their interview with England’s “Good Morning Britain” on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. R. Kelly’s three sisters were queried by correspondent Noel Phillips about whether they acknowledge what their brother did to scores of young women.

“I’m not going to acknowledge something I don’t have proof of,” Lisa Kelly retorted sharply. “If there’s a victim, I will acknowledge. But from what I’ve seen in court, and from what I’ve studied and from what I’ve read, the only victim I’ve seen that’s been stolen from, lied on, is Robert.”

When Phillips asked her “how can you sit here and say R. Kelly was the victim? A lot of people will be confused,” Lisa Kelly was quick on the trigger.

“I just told you,” Lisa Kelly continued. “I don’t care about ‘what a lot of people’ [say]. I can only go by what I see, what I know, what I’ve experienced.”
