What is your profession, what is your company name, what are your responsibilities and why did you select your career?
I am the founder and CEO of Goodr. I oversee vision and strategy for the company. I selected this career because I desired to help people and wanted to live my life making a difference in the world.
As a Black woman, what do you consider your superpower to be?
Lately, as a new mom and CEO, I think one of my superpowers has been balance. Finding ways to do it all and still do it well.
What thoughtful or encouraging piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell myself just wait and see. Things work out in the end and you have to go along the journey to get to the destination. Be patient and always keep your eye on the prize — you will win.
If you could thank any Black woman for her contributions to history and society, who would it be and why?
Wow, there are so many. I would have to say I would thank Michelle Obama for representing Black women with such grace and class during her time in the White House. She was, and is, everything.
As a successful woman in business, what is your greatest or proudest achievement?
I’m proud to be leading a multimillion-[dollar] enterprise that started from nothing with no money — just an idea. Seeing the company get to this point has been a dream.
