Cleveland rap icons Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, whose intoxicating international hits “First of the Month” and “Crossroads” were ubiquitous in the mid-1990s, were honored a street naming in their Ohio hometown.

The harmonious, rapid-fire rap group was fêted with an emotion-packed ceremony in concert with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop in the United States. And it was more than apropos that their groundbreaking debut album, E. 1999, helped to immortalize the actual intersection it was named after, E. 99th St. and St. Clair, in the heart of the hood.

“50 years of hip-hop 30 years of @btnhlive Let’s Live,” Krayzie Bone captioned his Instagram post, while Flesh-N-Bone added: “Monumental! Eternal love from the Land!”

“What an incredible journey me and my guys been on for 30 years ! Today we made history on the birthday of hip hop congrats bone thugs!” the group’s manager Steve Lobel added on his IG page.

Councilman Kevin Conwell announced that the petition to rename the street in Bone Thugs’ honor was the quickest in his two-decade career, according to News 5 Cleveland.

“This is the fastest petition I have seen signed, and I have been on council for 20 years. I’ve done a lot of street dedications, and this is the fastest one I’ve seen here. That’s proof that it’s in the pudding.”
