Lamar Jackson has, once again, proved his critics wrong. After being publicly challenged about his throwing abilities, Jackson completed 21 of 27 passes for 357 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Baltimore Ravens’ 38-6 win over the Detroit Lions.
“I’m all right with winning, but it’s still the regular season,” Jackson said in his postgame press conference, reported by Jamison Hensley. “We’ve improved from last week and earlier in the season, I believe we did, but it’s just one regular season game.”
Jackson is now third all-time in the NFL’s Super Bowl era in points per game for a starting quarterback, behind No.1, Patrick Mahomes II; and Tom Brady in the second spot.

Jackson’s critics came out in droves after the Ravens’ 17-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 8. In that defeat, he completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 236 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception. He carried the ball six times for 45 rushing yards and zero touchdowns.

A lot of the criticism came from Jackson signing a five-year, $260 million deal with the Ravens in the offseason. In a negotiation battle that featured a trade request threat, critics pointed out the fact that his mother is his agent, which some thought was holding him back in terms of getting something done.
