In today’s polarized society, you can get backlash for dating outside of your race, and Mario is the latest person to have to sit on that throne.
The R&B singer recently went on Instagram to show off his new girlfriend. In the video, the woman is shown in the passenger seat of the car with a big smile on her face, with two heart emojis at the top. Mario also has the song “The Sweetest Thing” playing in the video.
Some social media users had a few things to say about the video, mostly because it looks like Mario is dating outside his race.
“He should’ve played “MAKING MY WAY DOWNTOWN” not no Lauryn Hill ohhhhhhh the disrespect,” one user said.
“This just made him 10x unattractive,” one user said.
“European society really did a number on Black men brainwashing them [to] think white is the standard of beauty,” another user said.
Over the years, Mario has been rumored to be involved with women such as Nicole Ricca in 2007 and Tinashe in 2019, whom he claimed were just friends going on dinner dates.
Other than that, it seems as if the singer keeps his dating life to himself which isn’t a bad idea after seeing all the drama that can come from being in the spotlight.
