Keke Palmer has “never been so happy” amid her domestic abuse court battle with her ex Darius Jackson.
The Hustlers actress, 30, was granted a restraining order against her ex-partner – with whom she has 10-month-old son Leodis – over alleged abuse at the hands of Jaackson, and he’s since sought a protective order against Palmer as he claims she was “verbally and physically abusive” to him.
However, the Nope star is not letting it get her down.
Alongside a clip of her holding a manta ray in the sea during her vacation to Chile with her little boy, she wrote on Instagram: “I have never been so happy in my life!! Already 2024 has started off on the vibes I was looking for, more experiences and more enjoying what this beautiful world has to offer. Look at my smile! I don’t even recognize me! I made a second connection with this girl here, I’m on clouuuuuud nine!”
The positive update from Palmer comes after Jackson claimed in court documents obtained by the New York Post‘s Page Six column in December, that Palmer “punched” him in an “agitated and aggressive” manner at a party in 2021.
He went on to name a friend, Lenoria Addison, who he claims tried to stop the alleged altercation.
His evidence is a string of texts from Palmer allegedly apologizing for hitting him.
One message read: “I am sorry for hitting you.”
Another alleged incident took place in October of that year when Jackson claims Palmer “violently gripped” his arm and demanded that he not leave the house.
“We exchanged a text about this incident, and I sent her a photo of the marks she left on my arm that night,” he wrote in the documents.
He also supplied the photograph of the marks on his arms that he claims were caused by his ex’s grip.
In the texts about the incident, Palmer is said to have declared: “We’re DONE.”
The former NFL player, 29, also claims that, in March this year, Palmerwas verbally abusive to him when a drain in their bathroom got blocked and that she allegedly continued to rant at him via email after he walked away.
“I tried to de-escalate the situation and she became more enraged. I left the house to avoid further conflict. That night, she sent me several emails. I went upstairs to ask Keke where he was. She was on the phone with her mother on speaker and refused to answer where Leodis was. Her mother immediately directed threats and profanities at me. I recorded the conversation because I could sense that [Keke] was becoming verbally and physically abusive,” he said.
A transcript of a recording allegedly of Palmer’s mom, Sharon Palmer Jackson, calling him a “punk” who comes from a family with “mental problems” was also supplied as evidence.
Jackson recently claimed he’s “repented” and been “baptized” after Palmer accused him of abuse.
When she filed for the restraining order, which she was granted, the actress claimed she feared for the safety of her son after Jackson allegedly got “rough” with the baby.
