Media personality Jerome Trammel said he had something to do with solidifying the interview. Mo’Nique responded to Trammel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Mo’Nique has a reputation for not biting her tongue, to say the least. In May 2022, Mo’Nique called out D.L. Hughley, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Harvey and Tyler Perry in Detroit.
It was Hughley’s headlining show where she called out one of the Kings of Comedy.
Mo’Nique said she was headlining the show.
“I’m 30-plus years in this m———- business, and I don’t open for no gotd— body,” Mo’Nique told the crowd. “The contract said, the headliner … but a n—- named D.L. Hughley turned into a b—, and said, ‘I won’t perform if she does that.’ N—, you opened for the Kings of Comedy. I closed for the Queens of Comedy, n—-. And you think because I ain’t got a d—, it ain’t my position. So when I leave this m———-, the headliner has left … we got a history. That m——– went on tour talking about all Mo’Nique wasn’t. You can Google it right now.”
In 2018, Mo’Nique called for a boycott against Netflix when the streaming service offered her less money than Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle for a stand-up special. She said Netflix offered her $500,000, while Schumer was offered $11 million and Chappelle was offered $20 million. After a 2020 discrimination lawsuit against Netflix and 2022, Mo’Nique premiered her “My Name Is Mo’Nique” stand-up special on the platform in March 2023.
Comedian Katt Williams went on “Club Shay Shay” to begin 2024, and the two-hour, 46-minute interview received over 56 million views. Williams went after multiple prominent figures in the spaces of comedy and entertainment, including Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey.
If the next episode of “Club Shay Shay,” hosted by Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, gets uploaded on the channel’s schedule, which has uploaded full episodes every Wednesday, then Mo’Nique’s episode will air on Feb. 7.
