In the BET+ original movie, My Valentine Wedding, what should be a joyous occasion quickly turns into a twisted tale of bitterness and jealousy.

The film stars Shaquita Smith (“Survivor’s Remorse,” “Wicked City”) and Travis Cure (“The Oval”) as a recently happily engaged couple who end up having to deal with their respective pasts as their exes team up to ruin their beautifully planned wedding.

Per the synopsis:

My Valentine Wedding follows Krystal Dawson (Shaquita Smith)- Krystal is a hardworking financial officer who is an undercover romantic and undercover poet. Krystal is surprised with a dream proposal from her longtime boyfriend Darryl (Travis Cure) and her life is flipped upside down as she is thrust into hosting what is supposed to be the wedding of her dreams but is quickly turning out to be the opposite.

Smith says she believes the movie is “such a romantic classic that I think everybody is going to love and relate to it in so many ways.”

Written by Cassandra Mann and directed by Christopher A. Nolen, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Dawn Halfkenny, Monti Washington, and Rhonda Morman among others.

“Being able to work with the great cast, crew and BET+ to make this film was exuberating,” says Nolen, who is also a producer on the film. “I am confident that the audience will really love it.”

My Valentine Wedding is set to premiere on BET+ on Feb. 8.
