Mo’Nique’s interview with Shannon Sharpe on “Club Shay Shay” has gone viral for the past few days after some of the bombshells she dropped during the conversation.

One of the topics discussed was how Tyler Perry had her blackballed in Hollywood by claiming that she was difficult to work with. Mo’Nique said during the interview that she had a phone conversation with Perry about the situation, and she sent the audio of the call to Sharpe so that he could listen to it.

“We sent you the audio of Tyler Perry, I don’t want you to take me at my word,” Mo’Nique said. “That’s cost my family tens of millions of dollars. Over a lie, a rumor.”

On X, formerly known as Twitter, the phone call between Mo’Nique and Perry was released by a user where they discussed his comments about her being difficult.

“‘We don’t know the sister to be a bulls——,” Mo’Nique said. “‘We know she’s a loud mouth, we know she’ll say some s— off the wall. But what we know about her is that she’s true to her word.”

“I’m not anyone that wants to hurt or upset anyone, especially you,” Perry said. “I think you are brilliantly talented. I think you should have a lot more happening. I thought for sure that, if you had campaigned [like they] wanted and played by their rules, what would happen is in the next film you would have gotten more money, millions of dollars — and your career in this film would have been much different. I believe that much in your talent.”

“I don’t ever want you to think that I’m out trying to blackball or saying anything [suspicious],” Perry said. “Please hear me when I say this, I’m not trying to hurt you, I would never try to hurt you.”

Later in the conversation, Perry said that if he brought a movie to Mo’Nique, he would have no choice but to defend and fight for her. Mo’Nique, however, wanted him to say it on the phone. Perry declined.

“I’m not saying it now, I will let all of this cool off,” Perry said. “When I get back on the press tour to promote my next thing, I know it’s going to come up — and that’s when I will talk about it.”
