Gayle King is one of the more recognizable faces and names in journalism. A close friend of Oprah Winfrey‘s, King has established herself as a consistent force as the co-host of CBS’ flagship early-morning program, “CBS Mornings.”
When returning to the “CBS Mornings” set in New York after the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, she couldn’t take a direct flight. Since there were over 500 private jets parked on the tarmac in Las Vegas waiting to leave after the big game — and fearing she wouldn’t be able to make it back to New York in time — she drove more than 400 miles to Utah to fly out to New York, The U.S. Sun reported.
While at the Super Bowl week’s festivities and the NFL Honors, King stopped by rolling out to discuss her latest show, CNN’s “King Charles,” with Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and tips for any young aspiring journalists.
How is the show with Barkley going?
I adore Charles Barkley. He is so much fun. He is funny. He’s smart. He cares. He’s got a huge heart. We’re having a great time, [as] journaled on “King Charles.”
What are three tips you have for aspiring journalists?
Be fearless.
Prepare, prepare, prepare.
Never be afraid of hard work.
