Draya Michele delivered a subtle clap back the legion of critics who adamantly disapprove of Michele 39, having another baby with a man as young as her son.
A few days ago, Michele confirmed the rumors that she was carrying the child of Houston Rockets’ rising star Jalen Green, who just turned 22. Since the announcement, Michele has had to duck for cover from the nonstop barrage of hate incoming from her many detractors.
Draya Michele gets philosophical for her fans
The former reality star of “Basketball Wives” — though she’s never been married — waxed philosophically about leaning into the few friends who know you in order to fortify you against the many who come against you.
“Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension,” Draya told her 10 million Instagram followers. “Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you. Most High sees you clearly – let that be enough.”
The day before, during her celebration of International Women’s Day, Michele tried to break the news in a way that was digestible and palatable to her fans and critics.
Draya Michele never thought she’d have a daughter
“As women, we navigate through so much, often leading us to question, ‘What is my purpose?’ For me, the magic lies in motherhood and the awe-inspiring ability to bring life into this world over the span of two decades,” Michele captioned the post at the time.
Michele — born Andraya Michele Howard — then revealed that she was pregnant with a baby girl, writing that she had the “privilege of bringing another woman into existence.”
“We are overjoyed to share our love for you, little girl,” she continued. “I’m am excited to speak words to the daughter I never thought I’d have. “We are anxious about your arrival, but take your time — this world can be tough. But know you are being brought into a space of love, security, and adornment.”
Meanwhile, Green, who is the reported father of the child, has yet to publicly make a statement regarding impending fatherhood.
