Fresh off his enshrinement into entertainment immortality, venerated music producer Dr. Dre shared some new information about the upcoming album by fellow hip-hop heavyweight Eminem.

After Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, 59, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the architect of The Chronic and Doggystyle masterpiece albums visited the set of “Live! With Jimmy Kimmel” where he told fans about Slim Shady’s project.

Sandwiched between fellow rap icons Snoop Dogg, 52, and 50 Cent, 48, Dr. Dre began to break down that he and Snoop will create their first album together since Snoop’s debut LP hijacked the Billboard charts and popular culture in 1992.

Afterward, Dre discussed his current work with Marshall Mathers, the Detroit-bred emcee he unabashedly calls the greatest rapper of all time.

“Let me tell you something, let me explain something to you right now: Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year,” Dre told the host, adding that his fingerprints will be on this record (of course).

“And I actually talked to him, and he told me it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show,” Dr. Dre said to rousing cheers from the studio audience.

“So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it, and it’s fire. I’m actually gonna hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow. And he holds his music close to his chest, so I haven’t heard everything. I haven’t even heard everything complete that I’ve done, but I’m gonna hear it, and he’s putting out an album this year.”
