Living legend Dr. Dre, considered one of the greatest musical producers of all time (not just in hip-hop), incited a riot on social media when he said that Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time.

Moreover, Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, 58, told “This Life of Mine” host James Corden that he doesn’t believe “anyone that’s rapping can touch” Eminem on the microphone — essentially saying that Slim Shady is without equal.

During the interview that is triggering urbanites nationwide, the former NWA member who produced Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Eminem and 50 Cent, elaborated on his theory that the Detroit-bred rapper named Marshall Mathers is at the pinnacle of his profession.

“‘My Name Is,’ that’s the first thing that happened,” Dr. Dre begins. “I put the beat on, and he just did that, right away. No, we’re in the studio, and I hit play on it. (*imitates drum beat*) And he just went, ‘Hi! My name is!’ It happened that fast, no bulls—. And then, we went from there, and that was the beginning of this relationship,” Dre recounts.

Dre continued: “I think he’s the best MC ever. Point blank, period. Of course, there are going to be arguments about that because he’s a white guy. You know? I don’t think anyone that’s rapping can touch Eminem on that microphone.”

Rap fans slam Dr. Dre for his alleged ‘bias’ toward Eminem

While many admit that the White rapper Eminem is supremely talented — and may even belong on the Mt. Rushmore of lyrical creators and spitters — they take umbrage at Dr. Dre’s resolute declaration that Em is the GOAT (greatest of all time).

Others, while understanding that Dre is biased because he discovered and created Eminem, nevertheless point to other legends who created a much greater imprint on the hip-hop world, including Tupac Shakur, Nas, Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Rakim, and others.
