Usher has been receiving flowers over the past few months for the work he has done.

Recently, he was honored during the NAACP Image Awards as Entertainer of the Year and received the President’s Award.

When accepting his award, Usher went on stage and gave a speech, thanking his fans and others for supporting and voting for him.

“My heart is beating really, really fast. It beats with passion. And I’m very honored to be able to receive this amazing award from the depths of my soul,” Usher said. “My passion work is what has mattered for me the moment my mother made me understand what purpose lies with the opportunity to be able to speak to the entire world.”

A social media user assumed that during his speech, Usher thanked the devil for his work as he slipped over the word “depth.”

“Did #Usher almost just thank the #Devil for his #NAACP award,” the user asked in a post.

Usher made sure to set the record straight and commented on the social media post, letting people know what he really said during his speech.

“Get the h— outta here!! God is my Lord and Savior… the devil is a lie!! You got me f—– up!! Not today, sir… I never have time for this type s— but today you gon hear this,” Usher said. “So, I was a bit nervous and jumbled my words when speaking from my heart… I hate teleprompters and they started to rush me because I was getting a bit long winded… everybody gets nervous, especially in this position.

“I was thanking the N double-A C P and shift to the depths of my soul… when my words got mixed,” Usher said. “The devil is always at work … don’t let him use my boy. You terrible for even tryna share this.”
