Legendary songstress Jill Scott is not ducking the smoke after getting backlash for praising crooner Chris Brown.


In fact, “Jilly from Philly” doubled down on her stance about Breezy being a supremely talented and multifaceted entertainer who destroyed rival Quavo with a devastating diss record.


Brown showcased his repertoire when he rapped on the recently dropped track “Weakest Link” which impressed the “Golden” singer.

There are still many fans who have refused to forgive Brown for the 2009 beatdown of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, and ripped Scott for exalting Breezy for his musicianship.


“Now Miss Jill, I know you mfn lying,” one fan said in the comments section. Another user blasted Scott for “praising a man with an elaborate history of abuse spanning a decade.” A third person accused Scott of “perpetuating the tradition of praising abusive men.”

The “A Long Walk” singer tried to explain to one fan how she feels about abusers.

Many fans were not trying to hear Scott’s explanation, however.

Many other fans agreed with Scott’s sentiments about Breezy, according to the comments section of The Shade Room. “If more people had her mentality. Some people should sip the mind your business juice. Funny how all the women forgave him [Breezy] but the people he didn’t touch can’t ….. makes you think huh?

Another person added, “I mean … she is right … don’t let what she [Scott] said go over your heads.”
