The Kelsey Plum and Darren Waller marriage seemed like a magical pairing carefully crafted by the athletic gods.
However, this magic carpet ride has crashed and burned in just over a year. The WNBA point guard and the NFL tight end have jointly filed for divorce in a Clark County, Nevada, court in Las Vegas, according to documents obtained by People.
After commencing the dissolution process, Plum, 29, provided a brief explanation of why her marriage to Waller, 31, imploded, though she did not get into specifics.

“I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go,” she penned on her Instagram Stories.
“God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends,” the Las Vegas Aces star added.
“One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and everyday I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP.”
Plum concluded her stream of consciousness by quoting the biblical passage from Philippians 1:6: “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Any problems the couple had in their marriage may have been exacerbated when Waller was traded across the country to the New York Giants soon after their wedding.
