Nneka Ihim remains tight-lipped about returning to ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’

Nneka Ihim was thrown into possibly the most polarizing ‘Housewives’ cast this season

Nneka Ihim is the living and breathing embodiment of Black excellence.  She is a successful lawyer and married to a handsome Nigerian-American doctor and philanthropist.  When she was introduced as the newest member of RHOP it was a no-brainer for fans who fantasize about the elite and extravagant lives of the rich and famous.

Ihim said she was excited to join the cast because she wanted to inspire young women who seek positive representation on television.

“I thought it was a great opportunity. I’m a girls girl at heart so I was looking forward to getting to know the ladies and having a new support system in Potomac since we’d just moved there,” Ihim shared.

Unfortunately, Ihim was unaware that she was walking into a ticking time bomb on one of the most polarizing seasons in “Real Housewives” history. Ihim was aware of fellow Nigerian cast member Wendy Osefo, but instead of being welcomed by a cultural sister, the two women were immediately pitted against one another.

“I walked into a lot of dissension with the ladies this season,” Ihim admitted, “but that’s not what I’m about. I believe in championing other women, so I was disappointed that so much of what people saw from me this season was dedicated to drama. There were so many other things filmed that I wish were shown instead.”

After the problematic season, it was announced that Robyn Dixon and Candiace Dillard-Basset would not return to the cast for the upcoming season. Rumors have been swirling about Ihim’s contract not being renewed, but she remained tight-lipped about her current relationship with Bravo.

“People will just have to stay tuned in to see what happens,” Ihim said.

One thing she hasn’t remained silent about is her next step in life. Ihim and her husband Ikenna are currently working on expanding their family. Ihim says the in vitro fertilization journey hasn’t been easy but she knows it will be worth it.

“I wish audiences got to see more of Candiace and me discussing preparing for motherhood. I knew she was expecting before the announcement went public, and I’m so excited for her,” Ihim shared.

Preparing for a future with her husband and continuing to enjoy her career and jet-setting lifestyle is her priority.

“I want young women to know they really can have it all. If they are willing to put in the work, they really can have a fabulous life,” Ihim stated.
