NBA star Josh Giddey went viral on Saturday, April 27 when a fan referred to him with the derisive nickname “P. Giddy” due to recent allegations of the 21-year-old romancing an underage girl.
Giddey, a shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, made a nifty move against a New Orleans Pelicans Christian James on his way to scoring two points. A fan exclaimed that Giddey torched James using the “P. Giddy” nickname, which immediately went viral.

Diddy, of course, is the moniker adopted by music impresario Sean Combs. He is the object of mutliple sexual harassment lawsuits and a federal investigation for alleged sex trafficking, drug use, domestic violence and other transgressions.
Giddey had been the subjected of a probe by the Newport Beach Police Department near Los Angeles after photos and video surfaced that allegedly tied a shirtless Giddey photographed with an underage girl. An anonymous person posted the photos of Giddey with a high school junior.
Following what the authorities said was a “a thorough and exhaustive examination,” NBPD said in January 2024 that it was “unable to corroborate any criminal activity” and closed the case.
Giddey averaged 11.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game during the 2023-24 season. He and the Thunder are looking to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs.
