Jim Jones immediately claimed self-defense in his recent viral airport fight video and Florida authorities look to have agreed with him as they officially decided to not file charges against the Harlem based rapper.
In the widely circulated video, the “We Fly High” rapper can be seen fighting with two white men on an escalator at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The video begins with the fight in progress as Jones tussles with one man before a second man jumps in to double team the rapper as the escalator reaches the ground floor. From there the three continue to scuffle before eventually being separated as airport security arrives.
According to Jones, the situation began while still aboard the plane. The Dipset Capo claims one of the men initially confronted him because he didn’t like that Jones went to grab his bags from the first class area overhead compartment before the plane came to a complete stop. The second man apparently jumped in because he did not like the language Jones used when talking to the first man.
Further footage of the mini-melee shows the rapper following officers’ orders to let go of the now bloodied man while yelling “It’s two of them against me” as they they were being untangled. Jones then remained seated as instructed while officers attempted to subdue the bloody and still belligerent man.
Jones later spoke with TMZ and reiterated to the outlet that he was not at fault in the incident.
“I was minding my business and defended myself,” he insisted. “They got what they were looking for.”
Florida authorities concluded that Jones indeed acted in self-defense after reviewing footage of the confrontation. TMZ also reports that neither man involved in the fight opted to press charges.
