Rap icon Ludacris offered a bold answer to the question of who would produce the best lyrics in a contest with Jay-Z.
When “Funky Friday” podcast host Cam Newton asked who could write the best bars if they both had two hours, the 46-year-old said he would come out on top.
“I would have to say, I would win on that one,” the man born Christopher Brian Bridges said. “It’s a strong statement to say that, because Hov is definitely one of my favorites.”
Luda then described how he would prepare himself for such a match against the New York native.
“In terms of flow, I’m going to kill that s—. [W]hen you put me in a category of, oh s—, I’m going against Hov, every f—ing word, every line, every style, every flow, every metaphor — I got to go,” he said.
Ludacris honored recently for his outstanding performance
Luda’s appearance on the podcast comes on the heels of the “Welcome to Atlanta” emcee’s first Webby Award for his performance during the Atlanta Falcons Hip Hop 50 celebration.
“I just received word that I’ve received a Webby Award — the Internet’s highest honor,” he said in an Instagram video for his 20 million followers. “For rappelling down from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I’m blown away, because I wanted to do this shit anyways.”
The Altanta-based rapper continued, saying: “So thank you to the Falcons. And thank you to everybody involved. Everyone who knows me, knows I’m a thrill-seeker, knows I’m an adrenaline junkie. And I think it’s dope to be honored for something I’d do any d— way.”
