Surveillance camera footage obtained by CNN appears to show Diddy beating, kicking and dragging singer Cassie in the lobby of a hotel, corroborating that part of the explosive lawsuit she filed against him last year.
Casandra “Cassie” Ventura was Sean “Diddy” Combs’ girlfriend for approximately 10 years from 2007 to 2018 and was also an artist on his Bad Boy label.
In the extremely triggering video from the spring of 2016, Cassie is walking towards a bank of elevators inside the now-defunct InterContinental Hotel in the upscale Century City section of Los Angeles.
Surveillance cameras corroborate Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy
The footage, which was taken from several angles, shows Diddy running after Cassie while trying to keep a white towel wrapped around his naked body.
Once Diddy catches up with her, he grabs her by the throat and throws her to the ground, and then he violently kicks her twice while she lies practically motionless. The music mogul then picks up her belongings off the floor, walks over to her, and drags her around the corner, out of range of the video, presumably to take her back to his hotel suite.
The “Me & U” singer filed a civil lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in November 2023, tantamount to throwing a grenade on his expansive musical and business empire. In the legal documents filed in New York, Cassie accused Diddy of a laundry list of crimes, including rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking, drug use, and physical abuse.

According to Cassie’s lawsuit (she settled out of court with Diddy for reportedly millions of dollars), “around March 2016,” Combs became “extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.”
Ventura said she waited until Diddy fell asleep to try to leave the hotel. Her plans were thwarted when Diddy woke up and “followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her,” the complaint said.
“He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape,” the complaint alleged, according to CNN.
The cable news outlet attempted multiple times to reach Cassie for comment without success.
