Fans did double takes when actor-producer Alfonso Ribeiro left a strong but cryptic message on his X page about movie mogul Tyler Perry.

Last week, Ribeiro shared his belief that his iconic character on the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” Calton Banks, was the best and worst thing to happen to him. He says that playing Banks created fond memories, but it ended his acting career because subsequent Hollywood directors and producers could not see him in any other role.

On Monday, May 27, an X follower suggested that Ribeiro’s career could be resuscitated by connecting with prolific moviemaker and TV series creator Tyler Perry.

And that’s when things went left. On Tuesday, May 28, Ribeiro answered the follower in a way that made fans think the “America’s Funniest Home Videos” host has disdain for Perry.

That’s when the traffic on “Black Twitter” came to a veritable halt and everyone craned their necks to see the real message behind Ribeiro’s post.

Fans believe Alfonso Ribeiro is holding onto something regarding Tyler Perry

Ribeiro, however, chose not to elaborate. But he incited a lot of chatter and curiosity among urbanites.
