Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson continues to rack up accolades, winning Best Athlete in Women’s Sports and Best WNBA Player at the ESPYs.

The two-time WNBA champion has a lot to celebrate this week. She was just announced as the cover athlete for NBA 2K25 on July 10. Days before that, she became the Aces all-time leading scorer.

Wilson was not present at the award show, but she left a virtual message thanking everyone for their support.

“I just want to say thank you so much for everyone that voted for me,” Wilson said. “Thank you, ESPN, for putting on this lovely award show. Hate I couldn’t make it, but I could not miss an opportunity just to say thank you to all my fans out there. I wouldn’t be the player that I am today without you guys support, and it does not go unnoticed. It’s crazy to think that a young girl who didn’t even want to play basketball is now up — or running — and even won an ESPY, which is special.”

Currently averaging 27 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.7 blocks, Wilson is looking to lead her team to a three-peat championship.

Wilson’s first signature shoe, called the A’One, is also set to release in 2025.

“It’s been incredible working with Nike toward a dream of having my collection, and it really is an honor to take this next step and become a Nike signature athlete,” Wilson said to Boardroom. “From my logo to the look of the shoe and the pieces throughout the collection, we’ve worked to make sure every detail is perfectly tuned to my game and style.”

Candace Parker, who recently announced her retirement from the WNBA, was the only active Black player in the league with a signature shoe. Parker is now the president of Adidas women’s basketball.
