Big Sean, the 36-year-old rapper and six-time Grammy nominee, recently made headlines with his freestyle at the On the Radar studios, where he rapped over Aaliyah’s beat from “If Your Girl Only Knew.” In his lyrics, Sean emphasized his disinterest in rap beefs, stating he has “better things to do than find someone to beef with.” This statement reflects his focus on more constructive endeavors within the music industry.

During his freestyle, Big Sean expressed his sentiments about the industry and personal betrayals, “I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason… N—as looking for engagement like they got they knee bent.” His choice of beat was a tribute to Aaliyah, one of his favorite singers, showcasing his respect and admiration for influential artists in his music.

Following the release of his freestyle video, Big Sean took to X to address his critics and reaffirm his dedication to his music rather than engaging in conflicts, “Yall goin wit so many narratives, im talking to da haters who just keep finding something to point out they dont like bout me… im a just focus on the music.” His message was clear: his priority lies in his artistic expression and legacy, not transient industry disputes.

Big Sean’s stance comes at a time when rap rivalries often capture public attention. His refusal to engage in such disputes not only sets him apart but also highlights his maturity as an artist focusing on his craft and personal growth.
