King of Soca Machel Montano discusses headlining four shows at the Apollo Theater in Harlem from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2, the weekend of the West Indian Carnival in New York. Montano recalls his first visit to the theater decades ago.
The West Indian Day Parade will take place on Sept. 2.
