GloRilla has officially become a key player in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. On Sept. 1, celebrated as 901 Day — named after Memphis’ area code — the talented rapper was presented with the key to the city, a recognition of her remarkable success and deep connection to the Bluff City.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Paul Young and a vibrant crowd of Memphians, all there to celebrate GloRilla’s rise as one of the top female rappers in the industry.

The 25-year-old rapper expressed her excitement on social media, writing: “Memphis made me. Frayser raised me. I got da key to my cityyyyy ahhhhh Happy 901 day MEMPHIS!!!!!!”

This honor comes on the heels of her debut mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang, released in April. The mixtape features popular tracks like “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be” (featuring Megan Thee Stallion), both of which climbed into the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

GloRilla also recently wrapped up a successful summer tour with Megan Thee Stallion, generating over $16 million from just 12 of the 36 tour dates. Additionally, many fans were surprised to see that she received a notable mention in Beyoncé’s latest Instagram post, further solidifying her status in the music industry.
