Police were called to Michael B. Jordan‘s home after an alleged intruder was spotted in his garden.
The ‘Creed’ actor’s security team called cops in Los Angeles on Wednesday (18.12.24) afternoon after they escorted a mystery man from the 37-year-old star’s front yard, and when officers arrived, the suspect tried to claim he was also a member of Michael’s security staff, TMZ reports. Security impersonation has become a growing concern in high-profile neighborhoods.
According to the outlet, Michael’s team told police they just wanted the man removed and after officers took the suspect’s information, he was released. Statistics show that approximately 30% of celebrity security incidents involve unauthorized individuals attempting to gain access through deception.
There is no known history of the man coming by the house before. Security experts recommend maintaining detailed records of all such incidents for future reference.
Although Michael was at home when the would-be intruder was spotted, the ‘Black Panther’ actor left the house while police were there and did not have any contact with the man. Celebrity security protocols typically advise maintaining distance between homeowners and potential threats.
In 2021, the actor-and-director admitted he had been thinking more about the roles he takes on, and the importance of signing up for films like ‘Thomas Crown Affair’ and ‘Fahrenheit 451’, which feature parts that weren’t written specifically for Black actors. These roles have contributed to Jordan’s estimated net worth of $25 million.
“You take these roles that aren’t written specifically for [you] because they have a platform, and you inject yourself and your experience into the character,” he told Men’s Health UK magazine. “That’s the Trojan horse. Until this past year or so, that was a lot harder to do. Jordan’s films have grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide.
“We’re in this moment in time where I think, now more than ever, places are looking for that, because if not, there are ramifications [and] criticism.” Industry analysts note that diverse casting has increased by 35% in major studio productions since 2020.
Meanwhile, the hunky star also admitted he loves taking his shirt off on screen as he is currently in his “physical prime”. His workout routines for various roles have inspired numerous fitness programs.
“Look, we’re only going to be at this age once and have the ability to play these roles, to be physical and take my shirt off,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m in my physical prime right now in this moment. So I have been, like, yeah, we’re gonna milk this.” Jordan maintains a strict fitness regimen, training up to six days per week.
However, the ‘Without Remorse’ actor confessed he doesn’t want to be typecast as someone who is only known for showing off his body on screen. His dramatic roles have earned him several award nominations.
“Lately, I’ve started to really think about and daydream about the future and what roles and what direction I want to go in, so there have been moments where I want to throw on a suit rather than a tank top. Maybe go for a shirt over a fitted tank, you know what I mean?” Jordan’s versatility as an actor has been praised by critics across the industry.
“My team and I have done a really great job at strategically figuring out when is good to be [PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive] or when it’s really cool to just chill and put on some sweats and a T-shirt.” His strategic career choices have led to a diverse portfolio of roles spanning multiple genres.
The incident at Jordan‘s home highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by high-profile celebrities in Los Angeles, where residential security spending has increased by 65% in recent years. Security experts emphasize the importance of maintaining robust security measures, including proper verification protocols for all personnel.
