Southwest T, born and bred in Detroit as Terry Lee Flenory, and Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory created the international drug cartel BMF and then thoroughly ingratiated themselves with Rick Ross and Atlanta’s hip-hop community.

Southwest T called up onstage by Rick Ross
Southwest T and Big Meech were arrested and each was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2008 for his role in running a money laundering and international drug trafficking operation.
Southwest T was eventually granted compassionate release to home confinement in May 2020, during the apex of the pandemic, due to ill health and the risks posed by COVID-19.
Big Meech was required to serve out his sentence before being released to a Miami halfway house in October 2024.
Southwest T pardoned, but Big Meech still locked up
On Dec. 12, President Biden pardoned Southwest T while commuting 1,500 others’ sentences, including that of Big Meech, who was transferred to a residential reentry program in Miami to serve the remainder of his sentence, which suggests a step toward eventual release.
