Jhené Aiko gives free massages to LA wildfire heroes

R&B artist and wellness entrepreneur shows gratitude to emergency responders

Jhené Aiko’s wellness brand Jhenetics is offering free massages to the first responders tackling the Los Angeles wildfires. The initiative has already provided relief to over 100 firefighters working extended shifts in challenging conditions.

The 36-year-old singer – who has son Noah, two, with fellow musician Big Sean and a 16-year-old daughter from a previous relationship – lost her home in the Palisades Fire and is giving back to the firefighters working on the frontline amid the Southern California blazes. Her wellness brand, Jhenetics, has been known for its commitment to holistic health and community support since its launch.

“Thank you to our first responders, those who have spent days away from their families, working tirelessly to protect us. We hope this small gesture of gratitude makes a difference during these long shifts,” she shared on her brand’s Instagram. The post garnered widespread support from fans and fellow celebrities, accumulating over 500,000 likes within hours.

At least 27 people are known to have died in the devastating fires – which began in the Pacific Palisades on January 7 – and 20 people are missing after hurricane-force winds drove the fires across Los Angeles, forcing 180,000 residents to flee their homes. The fires have consumed over 100,000 acres of land, making it one of the largest wildfire events in Los Angeles history.

Jhené and her children’s home was among those destroyed in the fires, and she admitted her “heart is so heavy.” The property, valued at approximately $3.2 million, was completely destroyed along with precious family memories and belongings.

“Me and my children’s home is gone. Burned to the ground with all our things inside. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy,” she said at the time. Despite her personal loss, Aiko has remained focused on supporting the community and first responders.

Fellow musicians including Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Beyonce have donated to the relief efforts, demonstrating the entertainment industry’s unified response to the crisis.

Taylor, 35, wrote on Instagram: “The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it’s been heartbreaking to see these stories unfold. So much suffering, loss, and destruction. As so many people embark on some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild.” Her message has inspired thousands of fans to contribute to various relief funds.

‘Blinding Lights’ hitmaker The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – donated $1 million and Beyonce $2.5 million. These contributions have significantly boosted local relief efforts and emergency response capabilities.

The 34-year-old singer’s offering was split between The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund and the LA Regional Food Bank. The strategic distribution of funds ensures comprehensive support across various aspects of disaster relief.

The chart-topping star made the donations in partnership with World Food Program USA and XO, The Weeknd’s humanitarian fund. This collaboration has helped establish a more coordinated relief effort across multiple organizations.

Beyonce, 43, gave the generous sum to LA Fire Relief Fund through her BeyGOOD Foundation. Her donation will specifically support emergency housing solutions and essential supplies for displaced families.

The Los Angeles Fire Department has expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of support from the entertainment community. Local officials estimate that recovery efforts could extend well into the summer months, with damage assessments still ongoing in many affected areas.

Community organizations have reported an unprecedented level of volunteer participation, with over 5,000 people registering to help with various relief initiatives. The combined efforts of celebrities, local businesses, and community members highlight the resilience of Los Angeles in the face of natural disasters.
