Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is said to have been secretly rushed from his jail cell to hospital after reportedly complaining of knee pain. The incident marks another development in the ongoing saga surrounding the embattled music industry figure.

The disgraced music mogul, 55, is currently behind bars at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center in New York awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, and denies all allegations against him. The facility, known for housing high-profile inmates, has been his residence since his arrest in September.

It’s now been widely reported around 10pm on Thursday (30.01.25) Combs was taken from his prison cell to Brooklyn Hospital, where an MRI scan was completed on his knee. The medical facility, which regularly treats inmates from the detention center, conducted the examination under heightened security protocols.

A law enforcement source told the New York Post the shamed rapper, who has a history of knee problems dating back to his participation in the New York marathon, had been suffering from ongoing discomfort. His 2003 marathon run raised $2 million for New York City public schools.

After undergoing routine tests, Combs was reportedly returned to his cell later that evening, with the hospital visit being carefully timed to avoid drawing attention, according to sources. The covert nature of the transfer reflects standard procedures for high-profile inmates requiring medical attention.

The incident comes amid a raft of fresh lawsuits hitting Combs since his arrest in September. The legal challenges have significantly impacted his business empire, estimated to be worth $1 billion prior to his arrest.

Along with accusations of sex trafficking, he is also facing federal charges of racketeering and sexual assault – some now dating back decades. He faces charges for allegedly running a “criminal enterprise” through his label, Bad Boy Records, while also accused of using his power to abuse multiple women, including 37-year-old former girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Bad Boy Records, founded in 1993, has sold over 500 million records worldwide.

Combs‘ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has dismissed the charges, saying the prosecution’s case remains “flawed.” Agnifilo has a history of defending high-profile clients in complex federal cases.

As recently as December, Combs was the subject of a new indictment which added two additional victims to the case. The expanding scope of the investigation has led to increased scrutiny of the music industry’s power dynamics.

Federal prosecutors claim these women, alongside Ventura, were forced into prostitution by the mogul. The investigation spans multiple jurisdictions and involves cooperation between various law enforcement agencies.

Alongside his criminal charges, Combs is facing multiple civil lawsuits, including one from former assistant Phillip Pines, who accused the rapper of forcing him to perform degrading acts as a sign of loyalty. The civil suits seek substantial monetary damages.

Combs’ trial is set to begin on May 5. The proceedings are expected to last several months and draw significant media attention.

It’s also been reported he has lost weight and has grey hair as he struggles with his tough prison regime. The Metropolitan Detention Center, where he is held, is known for its strict protocols and challenging conditions.

The case has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, leading to broader discussions about accountability and abuse of power. Several major brands and business partners have distanced themselves from Combs since the allegations surfaced.

Legal experts suggest that the multiple charges and growing number of accusers could significantly impact the case’s outcome. The prosecution has assembled a substantial team of investigators and experts to support their case.

The investigation has also led to renewed scrutiny of past allegations against Combs, with investigators reviewing incidents dating back to the early days of his music career. His legal team continues to maintain his innocence while preparing for what promises to be a landmark trial in the music industry.
