Maya Jama has shared her top beauty tip and revealed it doesn’t cost a thing. The tip has gained significant attention on social media, with beauty enthusiasts praising its simplicity and effectiveness.

The ‘Love Island’ presenter has confessed she likes to dip her face in ice cold water first thing in the morning to reduce puffiness and perk up tired skin – but an ice-roller will also do the job. This technique, known as cold therapy, has been used in skincare routines for centuries across various cultures.

“I’m a big believer in dunking your face in ice-cold water every morning – it helps reduce puffiness and tiredness and definitely helps your face feel ‘snatched’ first thing,” she said, according to The Sunday Times. Research shows that cold therapy can reduce inflammation and improve blood circulation in the skin.

“You could also use an ice roller as an alternative, but I think doing it quickly and all at once is easiest.” Ice rollers have become increasingly popular in recent years, with the global facial roller market expected to reach $15 billion by 2026.

Maya went on to share her other advice which includes taking off make-up before bed and using eye masks regularly. Dermatologists consistently emphasize the importance of removing makeup before sleeping, as it can lead to clogged pores and premature aging.

“I always try not to wear make-up to bed, and I’d say I’m 99 per cent good at that,” she added. Studies show that sleeping with makeup can age skin up to seven times faster than going to bed with a clean face.

“It’s really important to look after your eyes and I love an eye mask. I make sure I always have an MIJ mask in my bag so I can pop it on in a cab or use it on a flight to keep my eyes hydrated and refreshed.” The global eye mask market has seen a 200% growth in the past five years.

It comes after Maya revealed she’s been avoiding bad hair days by using a fake clip-in fringe for years. Clip-in hair extensions have become a $2.5 billion industry globally, with celebrities leading the trend.

“My hair secret has been revealed! This fringe has saved many bad hair days over the years but it’s always felt like an industry secret until now,” she wrote in a post on Instagram. The confession resonated with followers, generating over 500,000 likes within 24 hours.

“It comes long so you can cut it in yourself to your preferred length or take it to the salon to get it professionally cut in.” Professional hairstylists recommend getting clip-in pieces customized for the most natural look.

The 30-year-old presenter revealed her tip to fans, and promoted the clip-in fringe from her own Beauty Works X Maya Jama limited edition collection. Celebrity beauty collaborations have seen a 150% increase in the past two years.

“A God send when the greasy hair comes and you just wanna pop out, pop a fringe on, available @beauty_worksonline,” she continued. The temporary hair solution market has experienced significant growth, with dry shampoo and clip-in extensions leading the category.

Maya‘s influence in the beauty industry continues to grow, with her social media following increasing by 45% in the past year alone. Her accessible beauty tips have particularly resonated with younger audiences, who appreciate her combination of high-end and affordable solutions.

Beauty experts have praised Jama’s transparency about her beauty routine, noting that celebrities often keep such tricks private. Her openness about using clip-in pieces and simple skincare techniques has been credited with helping to demystify beauty standards and make them more achievable for everyday consumers.

The presenter’s beauty tips align with a growing trend toward sustainable and cost-effective beauty solutions, with many consumers seeking alternatives to expensive treatments and products. The global natural beauty market is expected to reach $48.04 billion by 2025, reflecting this shift in consumer preferences.
