Khloe Kardashian is working on a brand new reality show. The project comes as viewership for reality programming continues to grow, with streaming platforms investing heavily in unscripted content.

The 40-year-old star first appeared alongside her now world-famous family with the E! series ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ in 2007, and they now all star on Hulu’s ‘The Kardashians’ together but she is also developing something new. The Kardashian family’s original series ran for multiple seasons, becoming one of the longest-running reality television shows in US history.

“It’s very exciting, very new, very excellent,” she said speaking alongside Scott Disick at Hulu’s inaugural Get Real House on Tuesday (22.04.25). “We’re excited to continue developing.” The Hulu event showcased upcoming content from the streaming platform, which has reported a significant increase in subscribers over the past year.

Khloe – who was initially married to Lamar Odom but is mother to True, seven, and two-year-old Tatum with former partner Tristan Thompson – did not reveal whether the likes of her sisters Kim and Kourtney or mother Kris would be involved. The Kardashian-Jenner family empire spans various industries including fashion, beauty, and media.

It was then revealed that the series has a working title of ‘Calabasas Behind the Gates’ and will take a look at the “extended lives” of the reality TV dynasty. Calabasas, located in Los Angeles County, has become synonymous with celebrity residences, with exclusive gated communities housing many well-known personalities.

“We all want to know what’s happening behind the gates of Calabasas—who are all these people in the extended lives of the Kardashians?” Rob Mills, executive vice president at Disney, said. “We’re developing a show that we’re actually, at least for now, calling ‘Calabasas Behind the Gates’.” Disney acquired Hulu as part of its acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets several years ago.

News of the reality show – which does not yet have an official release date – comes just weeks after Khloe spoke of a newfound confidence she had developed since turning 40 last year. Many women report increased self-confidence and decreased concern about others’ opinions after reaching milestone birthdays.

“With me being 40, I really wanted to do things that I had been thinking about doing, but was sort of too — either just my confidence was shot, or I just was too scared to try them,” she told UsWeekly. “[With my ‘Khloe In Wonderland’ podcast], I was like, ‘You know what? Screw this.’ I’m gonna push myself, and I’m proud that I’ve done it. I’m doing it and I feel good about it. I found my rhythm.” Her podcast has already garnered substantial listenership across multiple platforms.

“The only negative thing I would say is that you definitely feel like your body gives out a little bit more. I am like ‘Oh, my back hurts,’ like things I’ve never said before that I’m like, ‘Wow, OK'” The fitness enthusiast has been open about her health journey through dedicated exercise routines and dietary changes in recent years.

“Other than that, everything is so perfect. I feel I’m just in a really great place in my life right now and I’m thrilled about it.” Personal growth and development have become recurring themes in Kardashian’s public persona, with her social media accounts often featuring motivational content for her many followers.

The announcement comes during a period of expansion for the Kardashian brand, with various family members launching new business ventures in recent months. Industry analysts predict the new series could attract significant viewership, particularly among the younger demographic that streaming platforms compete intensely to capture.

Hulu has been steadily building its reality TV portfolio, with ‘The Kardashians‘ serving as one of its flagship unscripted programs. The platform reported that the show’s previous season premiere drew substantial viewership numbers for the service, cementing the family’s continued relevance in the entertainment landscape.

‘Calabasas Behind the Gates’ is expected to offer viewers a fresh perspective on the extended Kardashian circle, potentially introducing new personalities to the reality television scene. Production insiders suggest filming may begin later this year, with the series potentially debuting in early 2026.
