San Diego Comic-Con 2025 promises to deliver one of its most star-studded lineups in recent memory, with major celebrities from television, film, and animation converging on the convention center from July 24 through July 27. While Marvel Studios may be notably absent from Hall H this year, the roster of confirmed talent demonstrates that Comic-Con remains the entertainment industry’s premier fan gathering.

The convention will feature an impressive array of performers spanning multiple genres and platforms, from established television dramas to beloved animated series. Perhaps most significantly, legendary filmmaker George Lucas will make his debut appearance at the event, marking a historic moment for both the director and the convention itself.

Major television stars headline diverse panels

Television programming dominates this year’s celebrity roster, with performers from both established and emerging series confirmed for appearances. Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, and Anthony Carrigan will represent the action series Twisted Metal, while the young cast of Percy Jackson & the Olympians including Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri will discuss their Disney+ adaptation.

The Walking Dead universe maintains its strong Comic-Con presence through Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, who will promote The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Meanwhile, workplace comedy Abbott Elementary brings its acclaimed cast including Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, and Sheryl Lee Ralph to connect with fans.

Other notable television appearances include the Outlander stars Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin, alongside cast members from the upcoming spinoff Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The convention will also feature panels for NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Interview With the Vampire, and Ghosts, ensuring representation across multiple network and streaming platforms.

Animation and sci-fi favorites return

Comic-Con’s animation programming continues its tradition of bringing together beloved voice actors and creators from long-running series. The convention will host panels for Bob’s Burgers, Futurama, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad!, and Solar Opposites, featuring voice talents including H. Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, Billy West, and Phil LaMarr.

The final season of Solar Opposites will receive special attention with comedian Tiffany Haddish joining the panel discussion. Additionally, the revival of King of the Hill will showcase voice actors Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss.

Science fiction programming maintains its strong foothold with representatives from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Starfleet Academy, including Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, and Holly Hunter. The FX series Alien: Earth will also host a Hall H panel featuring its ensemble cast, promising to generate significant buzz among genre enthusiasts.

George Lucas makes historic Comic-Con debut

The most anticipated event of Comic-Con 2025 centers around George Lucas making his first-ever appearance at the convention. The four-time Oscar nominee will join filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and Grammy winner Queen Latifah for a special Hall H presentation titled “Sneak Peek of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.”

Latifah will moderate the discussion, which promises to explore the power of illustrated storytelling and narrative art’s role in society. The conversation will span from ancient cave drawings to modern comics, murals, animation, and digital media, reflecting the museum’s comprehensive approach to visual storytelling.

According to Comic-Con officials, Lucas’s appearance represents a meaningful full-circle moment for the convention. Star Wars made one of its earliest public appearances at Comic-Con nearly five decades ago, and now Lucas returns to debut his museum dedicated to narrative art.

Convention maintains cultural significance

Despite the absence of some major studio presentations, Comic-Con 2025’s lineup demonstrates the convention’s continued importance in entertainment culture. The diversity of programming spans from prestige television dramas to animated comedies, horror productions to family-friendly adaptations like Lilo & Stitch featuring Maia Kealoha, Tia Carrere, and Sydney Agudong.

The presence of established stars alongside emerging talent reflects Comic-Con’s role as both a celebration of popular culture and a platform for introducing new projects to dedicated fan communities. With Lucas’s historic debut serving as a centerpiece, the 2025 convention promises to honor both entertainment legacy and future innovation.
