To kick of the 20th Essence Festival in July, Essence has teamed up with Walmart and Procter &Gamble’s My Black is Beautiful for a series of free concert events leading up to the main festival in New Orleans. During the most recent Road to Essence Festival event, P&G held a My Black is Beautiful ambassador search. According to P&G brand manager Grace Janes, “hundreds” of contestants submitted applications and were “invited for live auditions” at the Road to Essence. The Road to Essence Festival is completely free for the entire family. There are only two dates left so make sure to head out and have fun!
