The earliest mention of wine in rap can be traced back to 1982, in Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five’s song, “It’s Nasty.”
“Got fine, drink wine/Can dance and dine/Got a first class female oh so fine.”
The wine mentioned could have been a top shelf varietal or a Skid Row select, the brand wasn’t important.
