Michelle Obama has never been a first lady to fail when it comes to fashion, so it comes as no surprise that Obama is now making headlines for sporting a new hairstyle — bangs.
The first lady debuted the new hairstyle on her 49th birthday, Jan. 17, via her second-ever tweet under the FLOTUS title, just days before her husband’s inauguration. In the photo, Obama is seen rocking her new bangs and a Zac Posen dress as she meets with the inaugural citizen co-chair, David Hall, to talk about the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
Fashion enthusiasts around the globe quickly reacted, praising Obama for moving away from her typical tousled side-part and embracing a youthful and edgier ‘do (for a first lady) that’s only going to heighten the anticipation to see her inauguration ensemble.
