Brandy endured a humbling experience while performing in Johannesburg, South Africa. According to reports, Brandy performed in front of 40 people at the 90,000-capacity FNB stadium.

Brandy was called upon as a surprise guest at the Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day. The event featured musical performances, soccer matches and art exhibits. But while thousands of patrons attended the soccer matches, very few stayed to see Brandy’s performance.

The country’s national TV network also left when Brandy hit the stage. Brandy reportedly performed two songs and left the stage when it appeared no one else would show up.

Brandy has successfully toured internationally in the past, but the mishap could be blamed on the promoter who likely failed to properly market Brandy’s appearance.

Brandy and the promoter have yet to comment.
